Today’s Cardinal Cross Eclipse

by Deb on June 26, 2010

Wow, is the energy charged these days!  Early this morning (in the US) marked the moment of the Cardinal Cross lunar eclipse.  Because I’m getting so many people asking for information, I’m going to post the most important things you need  to know today, and until the end of August.

And while you’re here, here’s a picture of the eclipse as it began last night in Australia:

The first thing to remember is that the Cardinal Cross is only a moment in time, and it has passed.

That said, for some people, namely those born in cardinal signs (Capricorn, Cancer, Libra and Aires) this will be a doozy.  Here’s an example: a wedding of two people is a moment in time (“I now pronounce you…”) but there’s a lot of energy and stress leading up to it, and a whole lot of explorartion of new territory after it.  So, while the wedding is only a moment, there is a lot of energy pushing on both sides of that moment.

So let’s look at that energy.

This is an eclipse on the South Node meaning that it is a releasing eclipse.  During this next few days it’s time to let go of things we’ve outgrown but still habitually indulge in.  Easier said than done?  The energy of eclipses push you harder to make it stick.  This is the time to make those decisions in your mind.  You should also ponder what you will be now accepting into your life since you’re giving up old, outmoded habits.  Spend some time and think it through with intention.

Think on a grand scale.  Thoughts like, “I’m going to give up my thighs and welcome in being skinny” have energy, but not nearly as much energy as, “I’m ready to honor myself and all I’ve learned in my lifetime to bring in the highest realization of who I really am.”  If this is your goal, then consider weight loss a side effect.

Next, as much as you can, do not initiate changes during the eclipse.  Because this is such a powerful one, that means until the end of August.  I know, it’s probably impossible in every instance, but this is what you need to know:  if you can avoid initiating something for a while, put it off as long as possible.  It’s fine to react during an eclipse, but try not to initiate.

So, if your partner says something that has just gotten on your last nerve, resist the impulse to give him (or her) the heave-ho.  Instead, pop some popcorn and as much as possible, try to sit back and observe what’s happening as if you were in the audience at a movie.  At the movies, we react to what’s going on – but we can’t initiate anything.

Last but not least, be kind to your Capricorn friends, and any friends you have who were born under cardinal signs.  This eclipse is in Capricorn, so they will be feeling the brunt of this energy.  However, Aries, Libra and Cancer will be under it’s gun, too.  Give them a call and remind them that you’re there to talk if they need it.

And if you’re a cardinal sign – reach out.
