This past weekend Astrologer Susan Miller was in Chicago for her all-day event about the year 2010. What an enlightening day I had! I took about 20 pages of notes, but for me, the most important subject I came to learn about is the towering eclipse we’re going to encounter this year called “The Cardinal Cross.”
The Cardinal Cross portends a huge correction across the board in everyone’s life in some way or ways. No one really knows what will herald the beginning: a war? another stock market crash? a scandal? but it will be something that will touch all of us somehow…and some of us more acutely than others.
I don’t like not having a handle on things this big. I don’t want to get caught not paying attention when the bit “IT” happens. The readings I’ve been giving lately all point to this upcoming upheaval – which is why I was listening on all levels when Susan Miller spoke about it.
This infamous eclipse occurs on June 26. However, the effects can be felt as early as a month before that date, and for at least a month afterward. Obviously, whatever is going to happen is already in motion, so let’s talk about what we know and what we can do.
First of all the word ‘cardinal’ denotes that the cardinal signs of the zodiac will be on serious notice for this. The cardinal signs are Aires, Cancer, Capricorn and Libra. If your sun sign is one of these four, this eclipse is going to have the biggest impact on you. HOWEVER – wherever these signs appear in your chart will also be the affected areas in your life.
Let’s use an aspect of my astrological chart to describe what I mean. First of all, my sun sign is Pisces, so I’m not a cardinal sign, and therefore not as much of a direct target. But I DO have Cancer in my 10th house of Occupation, Calling, Honors, Awards, Achievement and Fame. So this will be activated during the Cardinal Cross. I’ll be watching those areas of my life for big changes. I always say that when the ‘stuff’ hits the fan, it’s all about where you’re standing – so I’m doing my internal homework in this area to mitigate the effects to that sector of my life.
An eclipse will give you whatever you need to move on in your life. If you have not made the necessary decisions yourself before the eclipse, the event itself will make it happen for you. However, do NOT initiate changes during the eclipse – simply observe them. That is perhaps more easily said than done, but Susan had these words to share: “Live courageously. Don’t act out of fear. During an eclipse (and actually always), things are either getting better or getting worse, so act with courage. There is always opportunity in difficulty.”
Perhaps few of us are going to get our charts done to help us through this upcoming trial, so use Susan’s wisdom at all times in your life. They are words to live by.
I had a client this morning wonder aloud how she should handle things if her life is not terribly disrupted while others perhaps could be devastated. My reply to her was, “When things are going your way, make the most of it. Then, when the chips are down for yourself or someone else, you’ll have funded yourself with the energy to be of service. If you do not choose to engage with your life when things are going well (because others may be suffering), you will be of little use to them or yourself when help is needed. Dance in the good times, make use of the gifts embedded in them, and you will have what you need to help others when the time comes.”
I am not writing these words to scare you. Think about it, the smartest minds and the most talented intuitives on the earth don’t know exactly what this all means, but they’re going on with their lives anyway – making decisions from a place of courage, not fear. Do it yourself. Begin today. And trust the process.

Mike,
I hear you loud and clear. I was thinking about this ‘biggest deal in the cosmos in our lifetimes – even human history’ and you’re right….on the world stage nothing big happened. The stock market didn’t crash and burn, some astrologers felt it would be a scandal … nothing huge happened.
Is it because we’re so jaded, we couldn’t recognize the effects? No – I don’t think so. What I think we just learned is that this type of Cardinal Cross is a personal thing. I have friends in Cardinal signs who went through hell during this period, so I can attest that it was beyond tough for some. But I agree – I think the astrologers got a bit worked up, we all paid attention, but it was nothing big on the world stage.
Thanks for your comment. You prompted me to comment on my own thought process!
So, what actually happened over those months? Well, nothing really. A few minor scandals. A modest volcano erupting. Some miners trapped underground. Just an average couple of months for news really.
And yet this was *the* biggest event in astrology, supposedly for decades if not centuries.
Draw your own conclusions.

Wish I had been able to be there to hear Susan talk! I have followed her for years, and think she is great! I loved the advice at the end – act when your life is going well. To me, another way of saying don’t hide your light.
Blessings,
Bonnie
